Perfect Vs Imperfect

I remember the day when I was sitting in my patio full of Jasmines, Roses, hibiscus, veggies and more, thinking what a great life it is. My grandma came asking,” What you doing kiddo?” I said, “Nothing much Grandma, I am just enjoying everything that you gave me and I am very lucky to be here, and there is nothing I hate in my life. If I would have to die right now I won’t have any regrets because you guys gave me the best life everyone dream about” keeping in mind that how perfect my life was with awesome parents, loving brothers and caring grandma. I was shocked when she said “I disagree”. I know that she is not arrogant, so I waited for her to talk further. When she noticed I was excited to know the reason, she dragged me into her lap and said, “Kiddo, life is not just this. Going to school, getting good grades, appreciated by all, coming home, enjoying your cute little garden, life is not just this. There is a lot out there, you have to go and explore and when you do, it makes you want more then comes the real excitement.” I wasn’t sure what she wants to tell, so I was bored already and asked her “let’s just forget about it and get back to the routine, it’s our story time.” I wasn’t smart enough to realize that she wants to complete what I started. She continued “Okay, let me tell you a story. I planned to tell this when you are big enough but I have to say it now or never”
She continued, “Once upon a time there were two best friends. Everyone in the town used to wonder, unlike each other’s lifestyle how can they be friends forever.  Justifying their statement, even though both are very hardworking, intelligent and smart; the way they define life was different. One guy always tries to keep things simple and straight, always scared about the past so spends his time to do things perfectly. He never had alcohol, never smoked, did nothing what typical people call ‘BAD’. But, he has this thing in his heart which always says that he is missing a lot in his life. He wants to have a care free life but he was more bothered  about what people think about him if he does things that he want to. So he always convinced himself to be like the person “his mom and dad wants to be” when he was a kid, the person “his wife and children wants to be” when he was a man. End of the day when he look into the mirror, he always see the artificial expression in his eyes that were made just for the people. When he closes his eyes, he feels that he is fading off in some others dreams. The other guy also likes to keep things straight and simple, but by ignoring people when they talk bad and doing exactly what he wants to do. He was responsible, successful and perfect. But people used to call him a “Bad Boy” because he lives the dreams of others. Living care free, living the way he wants to, mould people and situations as per his wish. He never had regrets in his life for not doing something because of any reason.
One day, both died at the same time. Angels came and took our Bad Boy to heaven and the other his friend to hell. People out there were astonished. One guy dared and asked the God, “I am not sure if you have any idea about what you did. The guy whom you sent to hell was the perfect one. He never did a mistake in his life. And the guy whom you brought to the heaven was imperfect. He drinks alcohol, plays around, smokes and never cared people. What made you do that?” God was quite for a second and said, “I should punish myself not for making a judgment now, but for giving one precious life to the person whom you call ‘Perfect’. I agree that he was been called perfect by people, he was kind, responsible and everything, but, what did he do for his own soul? He always satisfied others but he never satisfied his own wishes, he lived others lives not his own.” He continued, “I give one life so that they can do their best to fulfill it in a meaningful way. Do what you want to do, do what you have to do. Come back to me with proud and thank me for giving you a chance to see your selves what you got and how best you can do so that I can give you one more chance. Understand that I give you a life just for you not for others, they have their turn. Live your life and let live others.”” She ended the story.
She realized that I was confused and told me, “Go out and have fun. Think what you want and do what you want to do. Don’t care about others or what they think about you. Just concentrate on fulfilling your dreams and wishes. Go see the world, be someone and do something. Dare to be like the Bad boy in the story!”
